   It's my first smartwatch and as such I'm still getting used to it. It's simple to use, intuitive and, apart from anything else, it's beautiful. I can say that I'm very happy with the choice I made.

   To start on a positive note: It is a very nice watch. In terms of looks, I would immediately recommend this watch to anyone. However, the Smartwatch functionality and battery life are very disappointing. Connecting to an iPhone is fairly easy and the notifications come in well, but doing anything else with it/reacting via the Smartwatch is not/limited. Furthermore, I am also very disappointed with the battery capacity, with low usage the Smartwatch lasts a little over a day, then charging takes quite a long time, leaving you without a watch for some time.

   Om positief te beginnen: Het is een zeer mooi horloge. Qua uitstraling zou ik dit horloge direct aan iedereen aanbevelen. Echter de Smartwatch functionaliteit en de baterijduur vallen zeer tegen. Het verbinden met een iPhone gaat vrij eenvoudig en de meldingen komen goed binnen, echter er verder iets mee doen/reageren via de Smartwatch is niet/beperkt mogelijk. Verder valt me de baterij capaciteit ook sterk tegen, bij gering gebruik houdt de Smartwatch het iets meer dan een dag vol, vervolgens duurt het opladen vrij lang, waardoor je een zekere tijd zonder horloge zit.

   Design When you love watches and are eager to make the switch to a smartwatch, you quickly run into smartwatches that don't look like a normal watch. That has been a minus point for many people to make the switch. With the Fossil, that is no longer necessary. This is a beautiful smartwatch which is not inferior to the look of a normal watch. Installation Pairing with my (Android) phone was a piece of cake. After installing the Android Wear app, the watch is almost immediately usable. Build quality In the 3 weeks I have had it on my wrist now, there is not a scratch on it yet. Good quality and certainly doesn't feel cheap. Screen Nice OLED screen with good resolution. I find it too bright quickly myself, but this can be adjusted in the settings. The always-on-screen is a big plus. Functionality The reason I have always waited to buy a smartwatch is the lack of functionality for me. After playing with the Fossil for a while, I still haven't figured out the big advantage of a smartwatch. The device itself works well. The efficacy of the buttons and screen are well thought out. But I still do not use the watch as intensively as I had hoped beforehand. Battery life I make it to the end of the day with about 20% battery left. That's fine in my opinion. Put it on the (magnetic) charger overnight and you're good to go the next day. Incidentally, I noticed that charging is not particularly fast. Conclusion It is a beautiful device with the looks of a 'normal' watch. It works well and the buttons work well in practice. The watch lasts a whole day, which is fine for everyday use. Unfortunately, I am not yet fully convinced of the benefit of a smartwatch. However, this is not down to the Fossil. This is a successful product with great looks.

   Design Wanneer je van horloges houdt en graag de overstap wil maken naar een smartwatch loop je al snel tegen smartwatches aan die niet op een normaal horloge lijken. Dat is voor veel mensen een minpunt geweest om de overstap te maken. Met de Fossil is dat niet meer nodig. Dit is een prachtige smartwatch wat niet onder doet voor het uiterlijk van een normaal horloge. Installatie Het koppelen met mijn (Android) telefoon was een fluitje van een cent. Na het installeren van de Android Wear app is het horloge vrijwel direct te gebruiken. Bouwkwaliteit In de 3 weken dat ik hem nu om de pols heb zitten, zit er nog geen kras op. Goede kwaliteit en voelt zeker niet goedkoop aan. Scherm Mooi OLED scherm met goeie resolutie. Ik vind hem zelf al snel te fel, maar dit is aan te passen in de instellingen. Het always-on-screen is een groot pluspunt. Functionaliteit De reden waardoor ik altijd heb gewacht met de aanschaf van een smartwatch is het gebrek aan functionaliteit voor mij. Na een tijd met de Fossil te hebben gespeeld ben ik nog steeds niet achter het grote voordeel van een smartwatch. Het apparaat zelf werkt goed. De werkzaamheid van de knoppen en het scherm zijn goed uitgedacht. Maar ik gebruik het horloge toch minder intensief als dat ik vantevoren had gehoopt. Accuduur Ik haal het einde van de dag met zo’n 20% batterij over. Dat is naar mijn mening prima. ’s Nachts aan de (magnetische) lader en je kunt de volgende dag er weer tegenaan. Het viel mij overigens op dat het opladen niet bijster snel gaat. Conclusie Het is een prachtig apparaat met de looks van een ‘normaal’ horloge. Het werkt goed en de knoppen werken goed in de praktijk. Het horloge houdt het een hele dag vol, wat prima is voor dagelijks gebruik. Helaas ben ik nog niet helemaal overtuigd van het voordeel van een smartwatch. Dit ligt echter niet aan de Fossil. Dat is een geslaagd product met een fantastisch uiterlijk.

   Quality While I can't say whether the quality is good in the long run, at first glance it seems very solid. Even the snaps are firmly attached to the watch. The look, the design This Fossil is perhaps the most beautiful smartwatch available. Beautiful leather strap. The watch is not too big so recommended for narrow wrists too. Apart from a blank screen, this watch looks like a normal regular watch. Display There is nothing negative to say about this. The screen is crisp and clear to read. The resolution is perfect. How the screen performs in full sun I don't know. During these dark days, I haven't seen any sun. Installation Pairing with my Iphone was done within 2 minutes. Right after that, you can play with your watch. Functionality Let's start with what I think is a big minus. The least button, on the right side of the watch, is unintentionally pressed often, causing the watch to expect an action. This is due to making an external angle with your hand relative to the forearm. I solved this problem by wearing the watch on the right. There are plenty of apps and watch faces available. Messages on your whatsapp show up clearly on the screen. The notification when you get a call (and then answer or push away) is also very handy. Especially when your phone is in your pocket. Battery life This is the biggest minus as far as I'm concerned. With intensive use, I never made it to the end of the day. Surely this could be at least half a day longer. When you turn off functions, wifi and gestures for example, you do make it but then you don't use these functions. I see this a bit like a car with seat heating and cruise control but you can't use these on the motorway otherwise you won't make it to your final destination. Very unfortunate. Charging is easy but not fast. Conclusion, a beautiful smartwatch that looks very solid with lots of functionalities. When frequent charging is not a problem, buy it!

   Kwaliteit Hoewel ik niet kan aangeven of de kwaliteit op lange termijn goed is, lijkt hij op het eerste gezicht erg degelijk. Ook de knappen zitten goed vast aan de horloge. Het uiterlijk, het design Deze Fossil is misschien wel de mooiste smartwatch die verkrijgbaar is. Prachtig lederen bandje. Het klokje is niet te groot dus ook voor smalle polsen aan te raden. Behalve een leeg scherm lijkt dit horloge op een normaal normaal horloge. Beeldscherm Hier valt niks negatiefs over te zeggen. Het scherm is kraak helder en duidelijk leesbaar. De resolutie is perfect. Hoe het scherm in volle zon functioneert weet ik niet. Tijdens deze donkere dagen heb ik geen zon gezien. Installatie Koppelen met mijn Iphone was binnen 2 minuten geregeld. Direct daarna kun je spelen met je horloge. Functionaliteit Laten we beginnen met wat mij betreft een grote min. De minste knop, rechts op de horloge, wordt onbedoeld vaak ingedrukt waardoor de horloge een actie verwacht. Dit komt waardoor je een uitwendige hoek met je hand maakt tov de onderarm. Ik heb dit probleem opgelost door de horloge rechts te dragen. Er zijn legio apps en wijzerplaten beschikbaar. Berichten op je whatsapp komen duidelijk zichtbaar in het scherm. Ook de melding als je gebeld wordt (en dan opnemen of wegdrukken) is erg handig. Zeker wanneer je telefoon in je zak zit. Accuduur Dit is wat mij betreft de grootste min. Bij intensief gebruik haalde ik nooit het einde van de dag. Dit zou toch wel zeker een halve dag langer mogen. Wanneer je functies gaat uitzetten, wifi en gebaren bijvoorbeeld, dan haal je het wel maar dan gebruik je deze functies niet. Ik zie dit een beetje als een auto met stoelverwarming en cruisecontrol maar deze kun je op de snelweg niet gebruiken anders haal je de eindbestemming niet. Erg jammer. Opladen gaat gemakkelijk maar niet snel. Conclusie, een prachtige smartwatch die er heel degelijk lijkt te zijn met veel functionaliteiten. Wanneer vaak opladen geen probleem is, kopen!

   I have owned the watch for about 4 weeks now and I haven't used it for the last 2 weeks. Where I was super happy with the watch in the beginning, I now think it adds nothing. In the first weeks, I found it especially useful that I could click through my music via the phone and that I knew when I received messages and that I could also read them. After a few days, the constant reading of messages actually drove me crazy, you immediately feel you have to react. With a phone I don't have this as much because then I only react when I have it in my hands and therefore have time for it. What I especially miss are functionalities for sports. For example, a heart rate monitor. Also, on normal use, the watch can just be used for a day. The next day it can be used again if you put it on the charger properly, the magnet is very weak. Also, the connection between my Iphone and the watch is often gone

   Ik heb het horloge nu een week of 4 in mijn bezit en de laatste 2 weken heb ik hem niet meer gebruikt. Daar waar ik op het begin nog super blij was met het horloge ben ik nu van mening dat hij niks toevoegt. In de eerste weken vond ik het vooral handig dat ik mijn muziek via de telefoon kon doorklikken en dat ik wist wanneer ik berichten binnen kreeg en dat ik ze ook kon lezen. Na een aantal dagen werd ik eigenlijk alleen maar gek van het continu lezen van de berichten, je krijgt gelijk het gevoel dat je moet reageren. Met een telefoon heb ik dat minder want dan reageer ik alleen als ik hem in mijn handen heb en er dus tijd voor heb. Wat ik vooral mis zijn functionaliteiten voor het sporten. Bijvoorbeeld een hartslagmeter. Daarnaast is het horloge op normaal gebruik net een dag te gebruiken. De volgende dag is hij weer te gebruiken als je hem dan wel goed op de lader heb gedaan, de magneet is erg zwak. Ook is de verbinding tussen mijn Iphone en het horloge vaak weg

   The features of the watch are a bit limited, which could be improved (e.g. heart rate monitor). Also, the battery drains quickly. You do about a day with a full charge. The large on/off button occasionally causes a restart, because it accidentally presses against your hand for 10 seconds (do wear it a bit loose). Fossil, on the other hand, has delivered a nice stylish watch as I am used to from them. I don't find it overly big. Another plus is that you are less likely to grab your phone as notifications come in on your watch. The pairing with my Galaxy S7 is good.

   De features van het horloge zijn wat beperkt. Hierin zou wel e.e.a verbeterd kunnen worden (bijv hartslagmeter). Tevens is de batterij snel leeg. Je doet ongeveer een dag met een volle lading. De grote aan/uit knop zorgt af en toe voor een herstart, omdat deze dan per ongeluk 10 seconden tegen je hand aan drukt (draag hem wel wat los). Fossil heeft daarentegen een mooi stijlvol horloge afgeleverd zoals ik gewend ben van ze. Ik vind hem niet overdreven groot. Een ander pluspunt is dat je minder vaak je telefoon pakt, aangezien notificaties op je horloge binnenkomen. De koppeling met mijn Galaxy S7 is goed.
