May I introduce you to a true gentleman? This is Ligure watches

Besides our usual collection of watches from well-known brands, we are happy to introduce (as yet) unknown microbrands to the UK market. Because it is precisely at these brands that you will find special quality watches with which the wearer can really make a statement. May I introduce you to Ligure watches?

Summer 2019, Liguria; Three Dutch friends - all of whom have worked in the (luxury) watch industry for decades - met on a terrace on the beautiful Italian coast. Talking about their experiences and dreams for the future, the plan arises to develop their own watch.

The area where the gentlemen (and lady) meet is the inspiration. Sailing or diving during the day and dining and strolling on the chic boulevard in the evening.

This is how the contours of the Ligure watch were created: with all the qualities of a good water sports watch, and with the appearance of a sporty dress watch. A watch made for a gentleman. Understated chic, and high quality for a competitive price.

High-quality components and sublime details

The development of Ligure watches did not happen overnight, because the makers did not want to make any concessions to the appearance and quality they desired. That is why it was soon decided to keep control of the process. With some help from their impressive network, they succeeded in designing all parts themselves and having them manufactured in Switzerland, except for the purchased Swiss movements. Afterwards, the watches are assembled by hand in Germany.

You can tell by the details of the watch this was the right decision.

The case has a so-called 'turtle' shape with defined but smooth edges. This creates high wearing comfort and with a size of 41 mm the watch is also very suitable for women. There is a relief of Italy on the back of the case.

The flexible, quick-release silicone strap appears to be integrated with the case through a 'roof' on the case, covering the space between case and strap. On the inside, the strap has the profile of a Pirelli rain tire to wick away moisture, which increases wearing comfort. The steel bracelet features an adjustable Rachet diving clasp.

Behind the luminous indices there is also a long story. These are 'applique', which means that they lie on the dial. The indices are then filled with Swiss super LumiNova X-grade. The very best quality of luminosity out there. A good reading of the time in the dark is guaranteed throughout the night.

Due to the unique style element of the red line, it turned out to be very difficult to apply the lume (the luminous material) without it running over the line. Only after nine months was a manufacturer found that could do this! Another detail: the date window fits subtly and precisely into the 3-hour index.

Diving watch specs

You can tell by the Ligure logo, which is a stylized PADI dive flag;  you can dive with a Ligure watch. 20 ATM water resistant, screwed case lid, a screw down crown and a unidirectional bezel. But the Ligure watch also comes into its own on dry land. The classic diving watch look combined with subtle design elements give the watch an elegant-sporty look that does not look out of place in a bar or club.

Luxury packaging with extras

Much attention has also been paid to the packaging of the watches. All Ligure watches come in a large box with a handy travel pouch. You also get an extra strap made of water-resistant sailing cloth and leather, and a key ring with float. Handy if your key falls into the water.

Limited Founders Edition

For the introduction of the Ligure brand, two, limited to 50 'Founders Edition' GMT watches were released. These watches feature an automatic ETA 2893 movement and the inscription Founders Edition on the dial. After registration of the watch, the buyer will receive a numbered certificate.
