   Design This is truly one of the most beautiful smartwatches on the market. As far as it is possible with a smartwatch, it looks very much like a normal watch. A nice leather strap, round clock and not overly big or thick (men's version at least) Build quality Watch feels very solid, buttons all very sturdy, little play. Neatly water and dust resistant. Screen Screen has good resolution, everything is very readable. Touch functionality also works well, like you are used to from your phone. Nice, bright colours. Pairing Pairing with my Android smartphone was a piece of cake. Immediately after pairing, the watch wanted to update, and completely ready to use. Functionality Next to the previous version of this watch, this watch feels more complete. Heart rate sensor is now part of the feature list, which already makes this watch more of a complete product. Heart rate measurement occasionally seems not quite correct, sometimes an outlier when you don't expect it. Other than that, Android wear is ideal, as it comes with a lot of support out of the box. Battery life This is a big downside, though. With heavy use, you'll struggle to make it to the end of the day. And this is already using features where the watch face is really only on when you point your wrist towards you. Charging in itself is a piece of cake with the magnetic induction charger, but a watch that you have to charge at least every day is a very big minus for me.

   Design Dit is echt één van de mooiste smartwatches op de markt. Voor zover het mogelijk is bij een smartwatch, lijkt deze heel erg op een normaal horloge. Een mooie lederen band, ronde klok en niet overdreven groot of dik (mannenversie in ieder geval) Bouwkwaliteit Horloge voelt zeer degelijk aan, knoppen allemaal erg stevig, weinig speling. Netjes water en stofdicht. Scherm Scherm heeft een goede resolutie, alles is erg goed leesbaar. Touchfunctionaliteit werkt ook goed, zoals je gewend bent van je telefoon. Mooie, heldere kleuren. Koppelen Koppelen met mijn Android smartphone was een fluitje van een cent. Direct na het koppelen wilde het horloge updaten, en helemaal klaar voor gebruik. Functionaliteit Naast de vorige versie van dit horloge voelt dit horloge completer aan. Hartslagsensor is nu wel onderdeel van de featurelijst, wat dit horloge al meer een compleet product maakt. Hartslagmeting lijkt af en toe niet helemaal correct, soms een uitschieter als je het niet verwacht. Verder is Android wear ideaal, aangezien er veel ondersteuning out of the box meekomt. Accuduur Dit is wel een groot minpunt. Bij intensief gebruik haal je met moeite het einde van de dag. En dit is dan al gebruikmakend van functies waarbij de wijzerplaat echt alleen aan staat als je je pols naar je toe richt. Opladen is op zich een fluitje van een cent met de magnetische inductieoplader, maar een horloge wat je minimaal iedere dag op moet laden is voor mij wel een erg groot minpunt.

   Always had Fossil watches, nice watches and nice design. This smart watch also meets these requirements. Beautiful case and strap. First experience with installing it in combination with Google Wear goes well. App as well as the watch are easy to install. Watch also has a demo where it goes through after starting, very handy to get to know the first things. After the first night, the battery of the Fossil was already empty, which was a bit disappointing, but of course I had also done a lot with the watch. Unfortunately, the battery life is still a problem, it's just not as good. For example, if I cycle to work with the GPS on for 20 minutes for daily use, take a 30-minute walk during my break and then cycle home again for 20 minutes, the battery will be empty after that. What does help is to turn off the regular heart rate measurement, for example, and different watch skins on the watch face can also help. The smart watch functions are just fine. Apps install easily and perform well. Sports apps that use a lot of GPS drain battery quickly. 1.5 hours of sports with GPS does cause 50% battery reduction. So if you are looking for a smart watch mainly for smart watch functions and less for sports then this watch is fine. If you use it a lot for sports, then I would choose another option. But it is a nice watch!

   Altijd al Fossil horloges gehad, mooie horloges en mooi design. Ook deze smart watch voldoet hieraan. Mooie kast en bandje. Eeste ervaring met installeren in combinatie met Google Wear gaat goed. App alsook de horloge laten zich makkelijk installeren. Horloge heeft ook een demo waar deze na starten doorheen gaat, erg handig om de eerste zaken te leren kennen. Na de eerste nacht was de accu van de Fossil al leeg, viel een beetje tegen, maar ik had natuurlijk ook veel met horloge gedaan. Helaas blijft de accuduur toch wel een dingetje, deze is gewoon minder goed. ALs ik bijvoorbeeld voor dagelijks gebruik 20 minuten met de GPS aan naar werk fiets, 30 minuten wandelen in pauze en ook weer 20 minuten naar huis fietsen, dan is de accu daarna leeg. Wat wel helpt is om bijvoorbeeld het regelmatig meten van hartslag uit te zetten en ook andere horloge skins van de wijzerplaat kan helpen. De smart watch functies zijn gewoon goed. Apps installeren makkelijk en doen het goed. Sport apps die veel GPS gebruiken trekken accu snel leeg. 1,5 uur sporten met GPS zorgt wel voor 50% accu vermindering. Zoek je dus een smart watch voornamelijk voor de smart watch functies en minder voor het sporten dan is dit horloge prima. Gebruik je het veel voor te sporten, dan zou ik een ander optie kiezen. Maar het is een mooi klokje!

   I have had the Fossil Q Explorist FTW4016 smartwatch for 3 weeks now and I must say that I really like it. The design of the FTW4016 is stunning and the build quality is also good. Before this, I had another smartwatch and I also liked it, but I was missing the essential thing a smartwatch is supposed to do, namely pass on messages properly. The Fossil Q Explorist does not disappoint here, all the messages are neatly arranged by sender and when you click on the sender, you can read all the new messages from that sender and respond to them if necessary. What I also find an improvement over my previous smartwatch is that Runkeeper can be installed on the Fossil, with my previous smartwatch I could only install Endomondo. I just need to check if I can get the heart rate enabled with that as well. There is also the option to start one of the many workouts via google fit and it also measures heart rate. The watch is waterproof so I just keep it on while showering and swimming. The main disadvantage is the battery life which only lasts 1 day, so that means putting it in the charger at night and taking it out again in the morning. Charging is very fast by the way, with an hour and 15 minutes it is fully charged. Another drawback is that the Wear OS app on the phone does not have its own App Store, for this you have to go to the Google Play Store and then to categories and then scroll all the way down for Wear OS apps. There is also a built-in GPS in the Fossil, but it doesn't seem to work because when I turn off my phone's bluetooth, the GPS can't determine a position. So even running a lap without a phone is not possible this way. I still have to contact Fossil for that, but I assume that this problem will still be solved. If the battery would last longer I would give 5 stars.

   Ik heb de Fossil Q Explorist FTW4016 smartwatch nu 3 weken en ik moet zeggen dat hij mij heel goed bevalt. Het design van de FTW4016 is schitterend en met de bouwkwaliteit zit het ook goed. Hiervoor had ik een andere smartwatch en deze beviel ook goed, echter ik mistte het essentiële wat een smartwatch hoort te doen, namelijk berichten goed doorgeven. De Fossil Q Explorist stelt hier niet teleur, alle berichtjes zijn netjes geordend op afzender en wanneer je op de afzender klikt kun je alle nieuwe berichten lezen van die zender en er eventueel ook op reageren. Wat ik ook een verbetering vind ten opzichte van mijn vorige smartwatch is dat Runkeeper op de Fossil geïnstalleerd kan worden, bij mijn vorige smartwatch kon ik alleen Endomondo installeren. Ik moet alleen nog nagaan of ik de heart rate daarbij ook ingeschakeld kan krijgen. Ook is er de mogelijkheid om via google fit één van de vele workouts te starten en deze meet ook de hartslag. Het horloge is waterdicht dus ik houd het horloge gewoon aan tijdens het douchen en zwemmen. Het voornaamste nadeel is de batterijduur welke maar 1 dag mee gaat, dus dat betekend ’s avonds in de lader en ’s ochtend er weer uit halen. Het laden gaat overigens erg snel, met een uur en een kwartier is hij volledig opgeladen. Een ander nadeel is dat de Wear OS app op de telefoon geen eigen App Store heeft, hiervoor moet je naar de Google Play Store en dan naar categorieën en dan helemaal naar beneden scrollen voor Wear OS apps. Er zit in de Fossil ook een ingebouwde GPS, maar deze lijkt het niet te doen, want wanneer ik de bluetooth van mijn telefoon uitschakel dan kan de GPS geen positie bepalen. Ook zonder telefoon een rondje hardlopen is dus niet mogelijk op deze manier. Ik moet daar nog contact voor opnemen met Fossil, maar ik ga ervan uit dat dat probleem nog wel opgelost gaat worden. Als de batterij langer mee zou gaan dan zou ik 5 sterren geven.

   The Fossil Exploris Gen 4 is FTW4016 a beautiful and stylish watch. Seven colleagues have complimented this watch. The watch is therefore really an eye-catcher but also functional. By linking to a Google account, installation is fairly quick. The heart rate is measured by means of green LEDs on the bottom. Throughout the day, the watch also does this, showing you what your resting heart rate is. My experience: Pros - Beautiful blue-metal watch case and leather strap. - Runs on Wear OS. - Is not tall and does not get in the way. -Charges quickly Cons - Battery time of just over a day - Hardware shows hiccups when battery is low. I've already had to reset the smartwatch once because it ran out of life. Within a week, I have already noticed two cures (with low battery), which is just too often.

   De Fossil Exploris Gen 4 is FTW4016 een prachtige en stijlvol horloge. Zeven collega’s hebben een compliment over dit horloge gegeven. Het horloge is dan ook echt een blikvanger maar ook functioneel. Installeren is d.m.v. de koppeling met een Google account vrij snel gebeurd. De hartslag wordt gemeten d.m.v. groene led’s aan de onderzijde. Door de dag heen doet het horloge dit ook, waardoor je ziet wat je hartslag in rust is. Mijn ervaring: Voordelen - Mooie blauw-metalen horlogekast en ledere band. - Draait op Wear OS. - Is niet hoog en zit niet in de weg. -Laadt snel op Nadelen - De batterijtijd van iets meer dan een dag - Hardware toont kuren als de batterij laag is. Ik heb de smartwatch al een keer moeten resetten omdat er geen leven meer in zat. Binnen een week heb ik al twee maal kuren geconstateerd (met lage batterij), wat gewoon te vaak is.
