Very limited edition! Seiko 5 AUTO MOAI

At the beginning of this month we received a message from Seiko that this rare Seiko 5 Sports watch was coming and now we can finally tell you! Seiko has entered into a collaboration with the Japanese artist Auto Moai. This has resulted in a very nice watch that is only available on a very limited basis.

The world view of Auto Maio

Auto Moai is a mysterious young artist who prefers to remain anonymous him/herself. Anonymity and "facelessness" also keep coming back in their Work. Auto Moia itself says about this:

“The theme of anonymity in my work has been present since I first started painting, and it hasn't changed. At the time, I had a really strong feeling that I was not special, that I was just one person among many. And because I lived in a world with that point of view, I couldn't even imagine people with faces. Since then I have been painting people without faces. ”

The design of the Seiko 5 Sports AUTO MOAI

The black dial and leather strap are printed with artwork exclusively designed for this watch.

The design is typical of Auto Moai: it depicts the relationships between people who are tacitly connected on the street, but difficult to visualize, so faceless.

The transparent caseback, through which the automatic caliber 4R36 movement is visible, is also printed with a figure and individually numbered. The Seiko 5 Sports AUTO MOAI has been released in an edition of only 1500 copies worldwide.

The watch comes in a special box with the same design. Included is a booklet with the artwork created by Auto Moai for this watch.
